About Journal

Journal of Economics and Allied Research (JEAR) is a peer-reviewed open access journal published by the Centre for Contemporary Economics and Allied Research (CCEAR), Department of Economics in collaboration with the University Press, University of Nigeria. The journal accepts state of the art research in the following areas: All areas of mainstream economics as well as other areas such as environment, health, economics geography, social and cultural issues, petroleum and energy economics, political economy and public policy.

The journal publishes articles quarterly (March, June, September and December Issues). The journal can also publish more than four times a year depending on the rate of submission and also based on editorial board’s decision. Articles involving cross sectional, cross country, time series and panel studies are welcome. In selecting articles for publication (from articles that have passed the review process) the journal will try to strike a balance among the subject areas and methodological approaches. In order to facilitate the speed of acceptance, articles addressing current economic problems or challenges with specific policy relevance will be given priority.

Structure of the Manuscript

All manuscripts submitted must adhere to the following guidelines:

Formatting Requirements:
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12
- Margins: Normal
- File formats: .doc, .docx, .rtf
Length: Research papers should not exceed 15 pages (including abstract, references, tables, figures, but excluding the title page). Authors with longer papers will need to revise or pay extra charges.
Title Page:
- Title: Short, informative, no more than two lines in bold and capital letters (Times New Roman, size 12).
- Authors: Full names (first and surname) of contributing authors with full institutional addresses, emails, and phone numbers.
- The corresponding author should be marked with an asterisk (*).
Main Text:
- Section headings should be in bold and capital letters. The main text should contain:
  1. INTRODUCTION: Includes the research problem and objectives.
  2. LITERATURE REVIEW: The literature should be organized thematically, not discussed article by article.
  3. METHODOLOGY AND DATA: Including the theoretical framework.
  4. RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS ON FINDINGS
  5. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
  6. REFERENCES
  7. APPENDIX: Includes results, tables, and figures.
Abstract:
- Word limit: 250 words
- Up to 8 keywords (avoid phrases)
- Up to 2 subject area codes provided by the authors
Supplementary Material:
- Contains the title, authors' names, institutional addresses, emails, and phone numbers.
Submission:
- Manuscripts can be submitted online or via email at jeareconunn@gmail.com.

Referencing Format

Style: APA 6th edition.
Order: References should be listed alphabetically at the end of the paper.
Completeness: All in-text citations must have corresponding references. Incomplete references will delay processing.
